To create an FPT account or purchase anything from FPT, you must be at least 18 years old — or older, if the age of majority where you live is higher — and you must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
An FPT account may not be created by a minor, held by a minor, or used on behalf of a minor. That applies to every stage of the program, from a Founder purchase to a funded payout.
The Three Eligibility Tests
Eligibility is not only about age. Three things have to be true at the same time.
| Test | What it means |
|---|---|
| Age | At least 18, or the local age of majority if that is higher |
| Legal capacity | You are legally able to enter into and be bound by a contract in your own name |
| Permitted use | Using FPT is permitted under the laws that apply to you, where you are |
The first two are about you. The third is about your location and is covered in Service Availability and Your Location.
You Are Responsible for Your Own Jurisdiction
FPT does not give you legal advice about where you live. Laws differ by country, state and province, and they change. Nothing on the FPT website is a statement that FPT's products are lawful or suitable for you where you are.
Before you buy, satisfy yourself that using a paid simulated evaluation product is permitted for you. If you are unsure, ask a qualified adviser in your own jurisdiction rather than asking FPT support — support can explain how the product works, but cannot tell you whether it is legal for you.
FPT may decline, restrict or close an account where FPT reasonably believes that providing the platform to you is prohibited, restricted or impractical under applicable law, sanctions rules, or a service provider's requirements.
What FPT Does Not Publish
FPT does not publish a list of restricted locations. That list has not been decided, and publishing a guess would be worse than publishing nothing. Where a restriction applies to you, FPT will tell you at the point it applies.
For the same reason, no payment processor, bank, verification vendor or payout provider is named anywhere in FPT's documents. None has been selected. When those choices are made, the relevant articles will be updated and versioned.
Eligibility Is Confirmed at Registration, Not Only at Checkout
You accept FPT's terms electronically — by creating an account, by ticking an acceptance box, by purchasing, or by continuing to use the platform. Accepting them is a statement that you meet the eligibility tests above.
Because you must create an FPT account before purchasing, the eligibility statement is made before any money moves. Keep that in mind: if you would not be able to make that statement truthfully, do not create the account.
What Happens if Eligibility Fails Later
Eligibility is a continuing requirement, not a one-time box. If FPT reasonably determines that you did not meet it — or no longer meet it — FPT may:
- Suspend access to the account while it looks into the position.
- Ask you for information or documents that resolve the question.
- Restrict or close the account if the question cannot be resolved.
- Withhold a pending payout until the review is complete.
- Decline a discretionary refund where the failure involved false information.
FPT will give notice where it reasonably can and will tell you what it found. You always have a route to respond — see Account Reviews and Appeals and Support.
An account closed for genuine ineligibility discovered after purchase is not automatically a refund. Refunds are governed by the Refund, Cancellation and Chargeback Policy, and FPT may consider a discretionary refund only before any simulated trade has been placed on the purchased evaluation.
Eligibility and Verification Are Different Things
Meeting the eligibility tests does not mean you have been verified. Identity verification is a separate step that FPT may require — most often before a funded account is activated or a payout is released. What it involves, and when it applies, is set out in Identity Verification and Verification Before Funded Activation or Payout.
Companies, Trusts and Third Parties
An FPT profile belongs to a person. One person, one profile — see One FPT Profile Per Person.
If you want to know how a company or LLC fits into that, read Trading Through a Company or LLC. The short version is that the trading, the rules and the conduct obligations always attach to a named individual, whatever the tax arrangements behind them.
The full eligibility language is in the Terms of Use and the FPT Scale Program Agreement.
