Trading Through a Company and Payment Ownership

Updated

At a Glance

  • The FPT profile is held in your own name, always.
  • A company may sit on the tax and payment side, arranged in advance.
  • The payment method must match the profile — a business card will not.

What a Company Cannot Do

Acceptance of the Terms of Use and the Program Agreement stays personal to you, and so does identity verification. Beyond those, a company cannot:

Get you more accounts. Registering under a company name to exceed the per-person limits is a duplicate profile. See Account Limits.

Let someone else trade. A partner, employee, contractor or family member trading your account is account sharing, and no operating agreement changes that. Several people trading several accounts under one entity, especially with coordinated positions, is exactly what the coordinated-trading rules prohibit. See Prohibited Trading Conduct.

Make a payout anonymous. An entity in the chain does not remove the requirement to verify the individual behind it.

What a Company May Be Able to Do

Receive the payout, where your tax arrangements route trading income through an entity, subject to verification of both you and the entity, and to what FPT payout arrangements support. Not a right — and whether FPT supports any entity arrangement at launch is not finalised. Any arrangement has to be settled with support before your first payout cycle closes.

Pay for the purchase, subject to the same mismatch problem below.

Paying for the Account

The name on the payment method must correspond to the name on the FPT profile, so a business card is a mismatch even when the company is yours. Where the paying name and the profile name are different people, verification cannot resolve and the payout stops there. A payment you did not authorise is fraud, and reversals, holds and closures follow the profile — if a partner wants to pay, have the funds moved to you first.

A lawful payment dispute is your right; using one to reverse a charge you authorised is not — see Canceling, Refunds and Payment Problems.

How to Set It Up

Email support@fundedpredictiontrader.com early, describing the entity and what you want it to do. Expect a verification request covering both, and wait for written confirmation before relying on it. Do it during evaluation: an entity introduced on the day a payout is submitted is reviewed as a redirected payout.

FPT does not give tax advice, and a payout is your income to report. See Payout Methods and Taxes.
