A funded FPT Scale account is breached when it exceeds its risk limits, violates its position limits, or violates the good-faith conduct rules. A breach ends the funded account, and profit that had accrued in it is not payable.

Funded resets are not available at launch, so a breached funded account cannot be restored to the funded stage.

What Causes a Breach

There are three families of cause.

Risk limits. The account exceeds its maximum loss or falls through its end-of-day trailing drawdown floor. There is no daily loss limit on an FPT Scale account — a single bad day does not breach you on its own, but it can carry the account through its loss floor, which does.

Position limits. A position exceeds the account's max open size, or exceeds 5% of that market's trailing 24-hour volume. In normal operation these orders are blocked by the trading system rather than filled, so this cause usually points at an attempt to work around the limit rather than an ordinary rejected order. See Max Open Size and Market-Volume Limits.

Conduct. Account sharing, duplicate profiles, coordinated trading across related accounts, exploitation of pricing or data feeds, and other prohibited conduct. These are set out in Good-Faith Trading and Prohibited Conduct, which is incorporated into the Program Agreement.

The Numbers That Govern Your Account

FPT accounts use an end-of-day trailing drawdown floor. The floor is measured against the account's end-of-day balance and trails upward as the account profits.

On an evaluation account, the floor stops trailing once it reaches the starting balance plus $100 — $25,100 on the $25k, $50,100 on the $50k, $100,100 on the $100k — and is fixed from that point.

The specific loss limit and drawdown floor applying to your funded account are shown on that account in your dashboard. Where a per-size funded figure is not yet published in the Help Center, FPT will publish it in Funded Account Rules before launch rather than apply an unpublished number to your account.

What a Breach Costs You

What happensDetail
The funded accountEnds. It cannot be traded further.
Accrued profit in that accountNot payable.
A payout cycle in progressEnds with the account. Qualifying days already recorded do not carry over.
Your scaling milestoneLost with the account. Caps and max open size do not transfer.
Payouts already approved and paidUnaffected by a later breach.
Your other accountsUnaffected, unless the cause was conduct that implicates them.

A conduct breach is treated more seriously than a risk breach. Coordinated trading, duplicate profiles or feed exploitation can affect every account associated with you, and can disqualify a discretionary refund. See Fraud and Abuse Prevention.

Review Before a Conduct Breach Is Applied

A risk breach is mechanical — the platform records it when the limit is crossed.

A conduct breach goes through review first. FPT may examine orders, positions, timing, risk behaviour, market selection and related account activity before reaching a decision, and will contact you at the email on your profile if it needs an explanation from you. The process is described in Rule Violations and the Review Process and Account Reviews.

Getting Back to Funded

  1. Read the breach notice on the account so you know which family of cause applied.
  2. If you believe the decision is wrong, use the appeal route in Appeals and Support. If a payout was denied alongside the breach, see Payout Denial and Appeal.
  3. Because funded resets are not available at launch, returning to the funded stage means purchasing a new FPT Scale evaluation and passing it.
  4. Check your account count first. You may hold a maximum of 5 active accounts across evaluation and funded, with a maximum combined allocation of $500,000.

Reset fees published in the Help Center apply to evaluation accounts. There is no funded reset fee, because there is no funded reset at launch. See Funded Resets at Launch.

Avoiding the Common Ones

  • The funded stage starts at a lower max open size than your evaluation did. Size the first cycle to the funded figure, not the evaluation figure.
  • No daily loss limit does not mean no loss limit. The trailing floor is the constraint that actually ends accounts.
  • Never let anyone else trade your account, and never run a second profile. Both are conduct breaches even if the trading itself was clean.
