An account is breached when it can no longer continue under the program rules. There are exactly two ways it happens — you hit the maximum loss, or you break a conduct rule.
When it happens, trading on that account stops. The account's status becomes Breached, it stops progressing toward any target, payout or scaling milestone, and it releases one of your five account slots.
The Two Ways an Account Breaches
1. The Maximum Loss
In the evaluation stage your maximum loss is $1,000 on the $25k account, $2,000 on the $50k and $3,000 on the $100k. It is enforced as an end-of-day trailing floor beneath your balance, and the account is breached when its balance falls to or below that floor. The loss parameters that apply once an account is funded are set out in Funded Account Rules.
The floor trails upward as the account profits and stops trailing once it reaches your starting balance plus $100 — $25,100, $50,100 or $100,100. From that point it is fixed. This matters after a breach, because it tells you how much of the run you were still carrying risk on: profit above the lock level was never protecting the floor. See Maximum Loss and EOD Trailing Drawdown.
There is no daily loss limit at any size, so a single losing day never breaches an account by itself. Only the floor does.
2. A Conduct Breach
The second route is a rules violation rather than a loss. Account sharing, a duplicate profile, coordinated trading across related accounts, and exploiting a price or data feed are all breaches. So is any other conduct covered by Good-Faith Trading and Prohibited Conduct.
A conduct breach is not automatic. FPT reviews the account first, and the account is usually Suspended while that review runs. The process is set out in Rule Violations and the Review Process.
What Changes Immediately
- Trading on the account stops. Open simulated positions are closed and no new orders are accepted.
- The status changes to Breached.
- Progress toward the profit target, the profitable-day count and the consistency figure stops being counted.
- The account stops counting toward your five-account maximum and your $500,000 combined allocation, so a replacement purchase becomes possible within those limits. See Account Limits and Allocation Caps.
A breach on one account does not touch your other accounts, unless the breach is a conduct finding that applies across them — coordinated trading is the clearest example.
If the Breached Account Was in Evaluation
You have two routes.
Reset the same account. A reset restores the starting balance, the drawdown floor and the rule parameters, and your progress starts again from zero. It costs a reset fee.
| Account | Reset on a one-time purchase | Reset on a monthly plan |
|---|---|---|
| $25k Scale | $69 | $39 |
| $50k Scale | $99 | $59 |
| $100k Scale | $159 | $99 |
A monthly-plan reset is a one-time charge and does not reduce your subscription price. See Reset Fees.
Buy a new account. If you want a different size, buy the size you want instead of resetting. Founder pricing and the limits in Pricing and Reset Fees apply.
If the Breached Account Was Funded
A funded breach ends the funded account. Funded resets are not available at launch, so a funded account cannot be restored to the funded stage by paying a fee. To return to the funded stage you buy a new evaluation and pass it. See Funded Resets at Launch and Breaches During the Funded Stage.
Scaling does not carry across. A new account starts at that size's funded starting max open size with no payout cap yet, and scales from the first approved payout again. The tiers are in Scaling Tables by Account Size.
If a payout request was already under review when the account breached, it is handled under the payout review process rather than by an automatic rule. FPT has not published a general rule for that case; if one is set it will be published in Payout Rules and Review before launch. Do not assume either outcome — see also Why a Payout May Require Review.
Refunds After a Breach
There is no discretionary refund after an account-rule violation, and no discretionary refund once any simulated trade has been placed on the evaluation. A breached account is past both of those points. The full policy is in Refunds and the Refund Policy.
If You Think the Breach Is Wrong
Appeal it rather than resetting. A reset starts the account over and does not preserve the run you want reviewed.
- Note the account size, the date and time, and what the dashboard showed.
- Email support@fundedpredictiontrader.com describing what you believe happened.
- FPT reviews the account activity against the rule in question.
The route is set out in Appeals and Support. For a payout that was denied rather than an account that was breached, see Payout Denial and Appeal.
