This article is incorporated by reference into the FPT Scale Program Agreement. It is a binding rules document, not a summary. Every incorporated rule and its version is listed in the Current FPT Scale Rules Index.
Two things scale on a funded FPT Scale account — your payout cap and your max open size. Both step up on each approved payout, and the exact values at every milestone are published in the three tables below.
Nothing else scales. The profit split stays at 90/10, the number of qualifying payout days per cycle stays at five, and the 40% payout-cycle consistency rule stays at 40% at every milestone and every account size.
1. What Triggers a Step Up
- A step up is triggered by an approved payout, and only by an approved payout.
- A payout request that has not yet been approved does not scale the account. A profitable day, a completed set of five qualifying days, and a passed evaluation do not scale the account either.
- The new tier applies from the moment the payout is approved. It is not backdated to the cycle that earned it.
- Payout caps and max open sizes do not step down for an unprofitable cycle. Once a milestone is reached it is held for the life of that funded account.
- Scaling is per funded account. It does not transfer to another account you hold, and it does not survive a breach — a new account starts again at "Funded start".
2. How to Read the Tables
- Payout cap is the most you can receive from a single approved payout at that milestone. It is stated net to the trader, after the 90/10 split mechanics are handled internally. A $1,000 cap means $1,000 in your hands, not $1,000 minus a further 10%.
- Max open size is the largest single position the account may hold at that milestone, subject also to the 5% market-volume cap in clause 5.
- The Funded start row has no payout cap because no payout has been approved yet. The max open size on that row is live from activation.
- The 4th and later row is terminal. The payout cap and max open size stop scaling there and stay at those values for every subsequent approved payout.
3. $25k Scale
| Milestone | Payout cap | Max open size |
|---|---|---|
| Funded start | — | $500 |
| 1st approved payout | $500 | $750 |
| 2nd approved payout | $750 | $1,000 |
| 3rd approved payout | $1,000 | $1,250 |
| 4th and later | $1,500 max | $1,500 max |
Qualifying payout day minimum on this account size is $100.
4. $50k Scale
| Milestone | Payout cap | Max open size |
|---|---|---|
| Funded start | — | $1,000 |
| 1st approved payout | $1,000 | $1,500 |
| 2nd approved payout | $1,500 | $2,000 |
| 3rd approved payout | $2,000 | $2,500 |
| 4th and later | $2,500 max | $2,500 max |
Qualifying payout day minimum on this account size is $150.
5. $100k Scale
| Milestone | Payout cap | Max open size |
|---|---|---|
| Funded start | — | $1,500 |
| 1st approved payout | $1,500 | $2,000 |
| 2nd approved payout | $2,000 | $2,500 |
| 3rd approved payout | $2,500 | $3,000 |
| 4th and later | $3,500 max | $3,500 max |
Qualifying payout day minimum on this account size is $200.
6. The Market-Volume Cap Still Applies
- Your max open size is a ceiling, not an entitlement. A position may never exceed 5% of that market's trailing 24-hour volume.
- Your allowed position size is the lower of your current max open size and 5% of that market's trailing 24-hour volume.
- Scaling to a larger max open size does not raise the 5% cap. On a thin market the 5% figure will often be the binding limit no matter which milestone you have reached.
- The detail is published in Max Open Size and Market-Volume Limits.
7. Worked Example — $50k Scale
Take a $50k FPT Scale account that has just been activated.
- At Funded start, the account can hold a position of up to $1,000, subject to the 5% market-volume cap. No payout cap applies yet because no payout has been approved.
- The trader completes five qualifying payout days — each day's net profit at or above $150 — and satisfies the 40% payout-cycle consistency rule. The payout is requested, reviewed and approved.
- On approval, the 1st approved payout row applies. The payout cap for that payout is $1,000 net to the trader, and the max open size becomes $1,500 going forward.
- After a second approved payout, the cap is $1,500 and the max open size is $2,000.
- After a third, the cap is $2,000 and the max open size is $2,500.
- From the fourth approved payout onward, the cap is $2,500 and the max open size stays at $2,500. Both are terminal.
8. Worked Example — Cap Below Cycle Profit
Take a $25k FPT Scale account approaching its first payout.
- The account's cycle profit is $1,400. The trader requests a payout.
- The payout is approved, so the 1st approved payout row applies and the payout cap is $500 net to the trader.
- The trader receives $500. The cap limits what a single approved payout can pay out; it does not delete the rest of the account's simulated balance, which stays in the account subject to the account's risk limits.
- The max open size moves from $500 to $750.
- To receive more per payout, the account must reach a later milestone — $750 at the second approved payout, $1,000 at the third, and $1,500 at the fourth and later.
9. Interaction With the Monthly Payout Maximum
- Payout caps in these tables are per approved payout, per account.
- Separately, your aggregate payout maximum is $25,000 per month across all of your accounts.
- Whether that month is a calendar month or a rolling 30-day period is not yet finalised. FPT will publish the measurement period before launch and will not apply an unpublished interpretation. See Aggregate Monthly Payout Maximum.
- Your maximum combined allocation across all accounts is $500,000, and you may hold at most 5 active accounts across evaluation and funded.
10. What a Breach Does to Scaling
- A breach ends the funded account, and with it the milestone that account had reached.
- Funded resets are not available at launch, so a breached funded account cannot be restored to its previous tier.
- A new funded account, however it is obtained, starts at the Funded start row of its own table.
- See Breaches During the Funded Stage.
11. Versioning and Changes
- This article is version 1.0, effective 2026-08-04.
- Scaling is part of the economics you purchased. A reduction to any value in these tables applies only to accounts purchased on or after the new effective date.
- A material change bumps this article's version and states its scope expressly. A non-material change updates the last-updated date only.
- The tables above are the authoritative values. A marketing page, an email or an unversioned support answer that states a different number does not change them.
