A payment can fail at two different moments, and the consequences are not the same.
A purchase payment that fails means the purchase did not happen — nothing was bought and nothing was charged. A renewal payment that fails puts an existing monthly subscription at risk, and a subscription that lapses through a failed payment loses its Founder price lock.
Failure at Purchase
If the payment for a new purchase is declined, no FPT Scale account is created and no Founder purchase is recorded. You can simply try again.
Common causes and what to do about them are in Payment Declined or Failed. If a charge appears on your statement but no purchase appears in your dashboard, do not buy again — see Purchase Not Appearing first.
One condition to check before retrying: the payment method must belong to you. FPT requires that the payment method and the account holder are the same person — see Payment Method Ownership.
Failure at Renewal
Monthly plans renew 30 days after your evaluation is activated, then monthly. If one of those renewal charges fails, the subscription is at risk of lapsing.
FPT will attempt to notify you by email at the address on your account. The exact retry schedule and any grace period before a subscription lapses have not been published. FPT will publish them in this article before launch rather than state a number here that is not settled.
What is settled is the consequence of a lapse.
A Lapse Ends the Price Lock
Your Founder monthly price is locked for the life of that specific, uninterrupted subscription. The lock ends if the subscription is cancelled, refunded, charged back, terminated for a rules or account violation, or allowed to lapse through a failed payment.
| Event | Price lock |
|---|---|
| Renewal paid normally | Lock continues |
| Renewal fails and is fixed before the subscription lapses | Lock continues |
| Subscription lapses through failed payment | Lock ends |
| Subscription cancelled | Lock ends |
Once the lock ends it does not come back. A later repurchase is at then-current pricing. Full detail is in How the Monthly Founder Price Lock Works.
That is why a failed renewal is worth fixing quickly, even if you are not trading that week.
What to Do
- Check the email on your account. Notices go there. If nothing arrived, see Email Not Received.
- Open your billing details in the dashboard and confirm the method on file is current, has not expired, and is in your own name.
- Update the method if anything is out of date.
- Check with your bank or card issuer — many declines are an issuer-side block on a first international or online charge, not an FPT-side error.
- Email billing@fundedpredictiontrader.com if the charge still fails, with your account email and the date of the attempt. Do not send full card numbers to FPT.
What a Failed Payment Does Not Do
- It does not delete your account or your history.
- It does not, on its own, breach a trading account or remove earned progress.
- It is not a rules violation.
- It does not affect an approved payout already in processing. Payouts are money FPT sends to you and are governed by Payout Rules and Review.
Before Launch
There is no auto-renewal before launch, so a prelaunch monthly purchase has only one charge to fail: the first one, taken at checkout. If that succeeded, no further charge is attempted until 30 days after your evaluation is activated. See Monthly Billing.
If You Meant to Stop Paying
Letting a payment fail is a poor way to cancel — it can leave the subscription in an unclear state and it ends the price lock either way. Cancel properly instead: Subscription Cancellation.
