A declined payment is a decision made by your card issuer or bank, not by FPT. FPT sees that the attempt failed; it usually does not see why. That is why the fastest route is to check the common causes below and then, if they do not explain it, ask your issuer directly.

Do not retry the same payment repeatedly. Several failed attempts in a row can trigger a fraud block at your issuer and make the next legitimate attempt fail too.

Check These First

  1. Card details. Number, expiry, security code and the billing postal code must match what your issuer has on file. A mismatched postal code alone is enough to decline a payment.
  2. Available funds, including any hold your bank has already placed for a pending authorisation.
  3. International and online-purchase blocks. Many cards decline unfamiliar or cross-border merchants by default until you approve them.
  4. Your bank's app or messages. Issuers often send a "did you make this purchase?" prompt. An unanswered prompt is a decline.
  5. Card type. Some prepaid, virtual and gift cards are not accepted for recurring charges.
  6. The card is yours. The payment method must belong to the person who owns the FPT account — see Payment Method Ownership.
  7. Browser interference. Ad blockers, privacy extensions and aggressive tracking protection can break a checkout step. Try a private window with extensions off.

If everything above is correct, call the number on the back of your card and ask the issuer to authorise the attempt. That is the single most effective step, and support cannot do it for you.

Pending Charges That Are Not Charges

A pending line in your banking app is often an authorisation — a temporary hold placed while the payment is attempted. If the payment did not complete, the hold is released by your bank on its own schedule. It is not a charge and it is not money taken.

This is why a declined checkout can still show a pending line. Before disputing anything, wait for it to settle or drop, and check whether your FPT dashboard shows a completed purchase. See Purchase Not Appearing in Your Dashboard.

If two lines settle for a purchase you made once, that is a genuine duplicate — contact support with both, before disputing through your bank.

What FPT Charges and When

ChargeWhen it happens
Founder one-time purchaseCharged immediately at checkout
First monthly Founder paymentCharged immediately; prepays the first month of evaluation access, beginning at activation
Second monthly payment30 days after evaluation activation, then monthly until cancelled
Reset feeWhen you choose to reset; a monthly-plan reset is a one-time charge and does not lower the subscription price

There is no auto-renewal before launch. If you see a renewal attempt on a monthly plan before your evaluation has been activated, report it — that is not how the plan is meant to behave. See When Monthly Renewal Begins and Monthly Billing.

If a Monthly Renewal Fails

A failed renewal puts your subscription at risk, and that matters beyond the missed payment: your Founder monthly price is locked for the life of that specific, uninterrupted subscription. The lock ends if the subscription is cancelled, refunded, charged back, lapses through failed payment, or is terminated for a rules or account violation. A later repurchase is at then-current pricing.

So fix a failed renewal promptly. Update the payment method, then confirm the charge succeeded. See Failed Payments and How the Monthly Founder Price Lock Works.

Do Not Dispute First

Your right to raise a lawful payment dispute is not restricted here. But a dispute is slower than a direct fix for a decline, a duplicate or a mistaken charge, and improper chargeback misuse can disqualify you from a discretionary refund and affect your account standing. Contact support first and let the record show you did. See Chargebacks and Payment Disputes and the Refund Policy.

FPT does not publish the name of any payment provider, and no FPT article will tell you a specific processor was at fault. If your issuer asks who the merchant is, the merchant is Funded Prediction Trader.

Still Need Help?

Email support@fundedpredictiontrader.com, or billing@fundedpredictiontrader.com for anything about an existing charge or subscription. Include your FPT account email, your order ID if one was created, the date, time and time zone of the attempt, the exact decline message shown, the last four digits of the card only, what you expected to happen, and your device and browser. Never send a full card number, a security code or a bank account number by email.
