You keep your lawful right to dispute a payment. FPT does not ask you to give that up, and nothing in this article limits a right you have under the law where you live or under the rules of your payment provider.
What FPT does ask is that you contact FPT first. Most disputes come from an unrecognised statement line or a charge someone did not expect, and both are usually resolved in one email — faster than a dispute, and without the side effects described below.
Contact FPT First
- Check the charge against your dashboard billing history and against Monthly Billing.
- If the charge is a renewal you no longer want, cancel the subscription — see Subscription Cancellation.
- If you want the payment returned, make a refund request — see Refunds.
- If you do not recognise the charge at all, email billing@fundedpredictiontrader.com from the address on your account with the date and amount.
- If you believe someone else used your payment method, say so explicitly. That is a fraud report, and FPT treats it as one.
Genuine Unauthorised Charges
If a payment really was unauthorised — a stolen card, a compromised account, a charge you had no knowledge of — dispute it with your provider and tell FPT. That is exactly what the dispute mechanism is for, and FPT will cooperate with the investigation.
If your FPT account itself was accessed by someone else, secure it immediately: Account Security and Login and Account Access Issues.
What Counts as an Improper Dispute
A dispute is improper when it misrepresents the facts to the payment provider. For example:
- Disputing a charge you knowingly authorised, because you no longer want the product.
- Claiming a purchase was never delivered when the evaluation account was created and made available to you.
- Disputing after simulated trades have been placed on the purchased evaluation.
- Disputing rather than using the refund and appeals routes FPT publishes.
- Using a dispute to contest a payout decision. A payout is FPT paying you, not you paying FPT, so a chargeback cannot address it — the route is Payout Denial and Appeal.
The distinction is honesty about what happened, not whether FPT liked the outcome.
Consequences of an Improper or Fraudulent Dispute
Where a dispute is fraudulent, abusive or otherwise improper, FPT may:
| Consequence | Detail |
|---|---|
| Disqualify a discretionary refund | Fraud, abuse or improper chargeback misuse removes the discretionary route in the Refund Policy |
| End the Founder price lock | A charged-back subscription is no longer uninterrupted, so the locked price ends and does not return |
| Review or restrict the account | Under Fraud and Abuse Prevention and Account Reviews |
| Close the account and decline future business | Where the conduct warrants it |
| Recover amounts properly owed | Through lawful means |
These consequences attach to the improper use of the mechanism. They do not attach to a genuine dispute made in good faith, and FPT does not penalise a customer for raising one.
Why FPT Cares About This
FPT funds real performance payouts from its own capital. Payment abuse is not a victimless workaround — it is one of the things that forces firms to make payouts harder to earn for everyone else. The rules here exist so that the payout ladder in Payout Caps can stay as generous as it is.
The Payment Method Must Be Yours
Many disputes trace back to a payment method that did not belong to the account holder in the first place. FPT requires that they match — see Payment Method Ownership. Paying for an FPT account with someone else's method creates exactly the situation a dispute is designed to catch.
If a Dispute Is Already Open
Tell FPT. An open dispute freezes the discretionary refund route, but FPT can still explain the charge, provide the billing record, and help you withdraw a dispute you opened by mistake. Email billing@fundedpredictiontrader.com with the dispute reference and the charge date.
