How the Monthly Founder Price Lock Works

Your Founder monthly rate is locked for the life of that specific uninterrupted subscription — what keeps it, what breaks it, and what it does not cover.

If you buy on a Founder monthly plan, your Founder monthly rate is locked for the life of that specific, uninterrupted subscription. FPT will not raise that subscription's monthly price on you while it keeps running.

Two words carry the whole rule. Specific: the lock belongs to that one subscription, not to you as a customer. Uninterrupted: the moment that subscription stops, the lock stops with it.

The Locked Rates

AccountFounder monthly rate
$25k FPT Scale$59/mo
$50k FPT Scale$79/mo
$100k FPT Scale$129/mo

The $50k FPT Scale is the only size with a published regular monthly rate — $99 per month — so it is the only one that shows a reduction against a standard price. The other sizes have a Founder monthly price with no published regular monthly rate.

What Keeps the Lock

Nothing more than letting the subscription run:

  • Payments succeed on schedule.
  • The subscription is not cancelled.
  • The account stays in good standing under the program rules.

Renewals at the same rate, month after month, are the normal case. See When Monthly Renewal Begins for the schedule.

What Ends the Lock

The price lock ends if that subscription:

  1. Is cancelled — by you, at any time. See Canceling a Monthly Subscription.
  2. Is refunded — including a discretionary refund granted before trading.
  3. Is charged back.
  4. Lapses through a failed payment. See Failed Payments.
  5. Is terminated for a rules or account violation. See Rule Violations and the Review Process.

Once the lock ends, it does not come back. A later repurchase is at then-current pricing — whatever FPT is charging at that moment, which may be more than your Founder rate and will not be the Founder rate simply because you held it before.

This is the reason a lapsed card is worth taking seriously. A failed payment that is not resolved can cost you a price you cannot buy back.

What the Lock Covers

Exactly one thing: the recurring monthly price of that account subscription, on its normal renewals.

What the Lock Does Not Cover

The lock does not automatically apply to:

  • Additional accounts. A second Founder purchase has its own subscription and its own terms. Holding a locked rate on one account does not extend that rate to another.
  • Resets. A reset is a separate one-time charge at the fee in force. On a monthly plan it does not reduce your subscription price. See Reset Fees.
  • Upgrades. Moving to a different account size is not the same subscription.
  • FPT Direct. The later straight-to-funded product is a different product entirely. See FPT Scale vs FPT Direct.
  • New products FPT may offer in future.
  • Taxes, charges imposed by a payment provider, and other externally imposed fees. See Taxes and Customer Responsibility.

Worked Examples

A lock that holds. You buy a $50k Founder monthly plan at $79 per month. Your evaluation is activated at launch. Thirty days later the second charge is taken at $79, and every renewal after that is $79. FPT later raises its standard monthly pricing. Your subscription still renews at $79, because it never stopped.

A lock that breaks. Same purchase at $79 per month. Four months in, you cancel because you want a break. Two months later you decide to come back. The $79 lock ended at cancellation, so the new purchase is at whatever FPT charges then.

A lock broken by a card. Same purchase at $79 per month. A renewal fails because the card on file expired and the failure is not resolved, so the subscription lapses. The lock ends with the subscription. Updating the payment method before a renewal is the cheapest thing you can do here.

The Lock and the Launch Window

An extension of the launch window does not affect your lock, and it does not cause an extra charge — monthly plans do not auto-renew before launch. See The One-Time 30-Day Extension.

If FPT cancels the launch or misses the final extended deadline, affected customers receive a full refund to the original payment method. That refund necessarily ends the subscription and its lock, because there is no program to be subscribed to. See What Happens If FPT Does Not Launch.

Where This Is Written Down

Clause 10 of Founder Purchase and Launch Terms, which is incorporated by reference into the FPT Scale Program Agreement. Your checkout record shows the price and cadence you actually bought, and that record controls transaction-specific fields.
