FPT may extend the launch window once, by up to 30 additional calendar days, where reasonably necessary. That is the only extension permitted. There is no second one.
If an extension is used, you are told by email and it is shown in the prelaunch dashboard. It is never applied quietly.
The Outer Deadline
| Stage | Length | Measured from |
|---|---|---|
| Target window | 30 calendar days | The first paid Founder purchase |
| Permitted extension | Up to 30 additional calendar days | The end of the target window |
| Maximum total | Up to 60 calendar days | The first paid Founder purchase |
The target window is described in The 30-Day Launch Target. Note that the extension is "up to" 30 days — FPT may extend by less, and the announced extension states the new date.
Once the final extended window closes, there is nothing further to extend into. Either purchased evaluations have been activated, or the mandatory refund is owed.
How You Are Notified
- FPT emails the address on your FPT account.
- The prelaunch dashboard shows the extension notice and the updated window close date.
Both happen. If you did not receive the email but the dashboard shows a notice, check your spam folder and see Email Not Received. Keeping a working email address on the account is worth doing now rather than at the moment a notice matters — see Changing Your Email or Password.
When an Extension Would Be Used
An extension is available where it is reasonably necessary to launch properly rather than on time — for example, to finish platform work that affects how evaluations are run, or to resolve a technical issue that would otherwise degrade the product on day one.
It is not a mechanism for indefinite delay, and it cannot be used twice. That is the point of capping it at one.
What an Extension Does Not Change
- Your Founder price. It stays locked to your purchase.
- Your account size or evaluation rules. Unchanged.
- Monthly billing. A monthly plan does not auto-renew before launch, so an extension does not cause an extra charge. The second charge occurs 30 days after your evaluation is activated. See When Monthly Renewal Begins.
- Your prelaunch dashboard access. It continues throughout.
- The 100-purchase trigger. If FPT reaches 100 paid Founder purchases during an extension, that still triggers the launch. See Launching at 100 Paid Founder Purchases.
Your Options During an Extension
You do not have to do anything — the extension runs and FPT launches within it, or the refund obligation is triggered.
If you would rather not wait, two routes exist and they are different:
A discretionary refund request. FPT may, in its sole discretion, consider a refund request made before any simulated trade has been placed on the purchased evaluation. Since trading is not possible before launch, this route is open during an extension. Approval is not guaranteed. See Founder Refund Requests Before Trading.
Cancelling a monthly subscription. On a monthly plan you can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals; by itself it does not refund what has already been charged, and it ends the Founder monthly price lock. See Canceling a Monthly Subscription.
If the Extension Expires Without a Launch
If FPT does not activate purchased evaluation accounts by the end of the final extended window, affected customers receive a full refund to the original payment method. That refund is mandatory. It does not depend on a request, it is not reduced because you used the prelaunch dashboard, and FPT will not argue that limited prelaunch access was delivery of the evaluation service.
The full statement is in What Happens If FPT Does Not Launch and in the Refund, Cancellation and Chargeback Policy.
