FPT launches on the earlier of two events: reaching 100 paid Founder purchases, or 30 calendar days after the first paid Founder purchase. This article covers the first of those two.
The homepage says "Launching at 100 Waitlists". That phrase stays exactly as written — it is the marketing description of this milestone. The binding trigger, and the one every legal and checkout surface states, is 100 paid Founder purchases. If you ever need to know precisely what has to happen for FPT to launch, it is the paid-purchase number.
The Two Phrasings, Side by Side
| Where you see it | Wording | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Homepage | "Launching at 100 Waitlists" | Marketing copy for the same milestone |
| Checkout, legal documents, this Help Center | "100 paid Founder purchases" | The exact contractual trigger |
They describe one event, not two. There is no separate waitlist threshold that launches FPT independently of paid purchases. Where the wording differs, clause 6.1 of Founder Purchase and Launch Terms controls.
What Counts as a Paid Founder Purchase
A purchase counts when all of the following are true:
- An FPT account was created before checkout.
- An FPT Scale evaluation was purchased at Founder pricing using the code
FOUNDER. - Payment was successfully captured.
- That payment has not since been refunded or charged back.
Each purchase counts once, whatever the account size. A $25k Founder purchase and a $100k Founder purchase each move the count by one. A person who buys two evaluation accounts adds two paid purchases — subject to the limits of five active accounts and $500,000 combined allocation per person in Account Limits and Allocation Caps.
What Does Not Count
- An email signup, waitlist entry or newsletter subscription with no purchase attached.
- An abandoned or incomplete checkout.
- A declined or failed payment. See Payment Declined or Failed.
- A purchase that was later refunded.
- A purchase that was charged back.
The last two matter: the count is a count of purchases that are still paid. If a purchase leaves, the number goes down again. FPT does not lock in a milestone that has since been reversed.
Whichever Comes First
The 100-purchase trigger and the 30-day window run in parallel, and launch is triggered by whichever arrives first.
- If the hundredth paid Founder purchase lands on day 11, FPT launches on that basis — the remaining days of the window are irrelevant.
- If the count is still below 100 when the 30-day window closes, the window is what triggers the launch. Reaching 100 is not a precondition.
So the count is not a hurdle you have to clear to get your evaluation. It is an accelerator. The details of the time-based half are in The 30-Day Launch Target, and the single permitted extension is in The One-Time 30-Day Extension.
Why FPT Does Not Publish an Invented Counter
Before any purchases exist, there is no honest number to show. FPT will not display a fabricated count — no "73 of 100" that nobody earned. The prelaunch dashboard shows the target and the real status FPT has published, and shows nothing where nothing is known yet.
That is the same rule applied everywhere in FPT content: no fabricated statistic, trader count, review or testimonial.
What Happens When the Count Is Reached
Reaching 100 paid Founder purchases triggers the launch process, not an instantaneous switch. FPT announces a launch date, and purchased evaluation accounts become tradeable on that announced date. There is no five-day activation allowance and no comparable grace period — activation is subject only to ordinary technical availability.
You will see the announcement by email and in the prelaunch dashboard. See When Your Evaluation Becomes Tradeable.
If the Launch Does Not Happen
If FPT cancels the launch, or does not activate purchased evaluations by the end of the final extended window, affected customers receive a full refund to the original payment method. That obligation is unconditional and is set out in What Happens If FPT Does Not Launch.
