When Your Evaluation Becomes Tradeable

Your evaluation becomes tradeable on the announced launch date. That moment is called activation, and it is when the account you bought stops being a reservation and becomes a live simulated evaluation.

There is no five-day activation allowance and no comparable grace period. Activation is subject only to ordinary technical availability — unplanned outages, maintenance and similar interruptions, which FPT works to resolve promptly.

The Sequence

  1. FPT reaches the launch trigger: 100 paid Founder purchases, or the end of the 30-calendar-day window after the first paid Founder purchase, whichever comes first.
  2. FPT announces the launch date. You are told by email and in the prelaunch dashboard.
  3. On that date, purchased evaluation accounts are activated.
  4. Trading opens. The "Coming soon" labels come off the trading surfaces.
  5. Your evaluation clock, rules and objectives begin.

The trigger mechanics are in Launching at 100 Paid Founder Purchases and The 30-Day Launch Target. If FPT uses its single permitted extension, the announced date shifts accordingly — see The One-Time 30-Day Extension.

What Activation Starts

From activation, your account is governed by the published FPT Scale rules for its size. Nothing about them is revealed only at activation — they are all readable now.

On a monthly plan, activation also starts your prepaid first month. Your second charge lands 30 days after activation, then monthly until cancelled. See When Monthly Renewal Begins.

What Activation Ends

The discretionary refund window closes when you place your first simulated trade, not at activation itself. Activation makes trading possible; placing a trade is what ends the route. If you are considering a refund request, decide before you trade. See Founder Refund Requests Before Trading.

Everyone Activates Together

Activation is not staggered by purchase date. A Founder who bought on day 1 and a Founder who bought on day 27 are activated on the same announced launch date. Buying earlier locks your price sooner and helps reach the 100-purchase trigger sooner; it does not buy an earlier start.

Day One Is Not a Race

Nothing about the evaluation rewards trading in the first hour. There is no minimum trading-day requirement pushing you to open a position immediately, and the five profitable days are a floor on quality days, not a deadline.

Two rules are worth internalising before you place anything:

The 40% consistency rule. No single trading day may account for more than 40% of the total profit counted toward the objective. One outsized day early on can make the remaining path harder than it needed to be.

Position sizing is the lower of two limits. Your allowed position is the lower of your account max open size and 5% of that market's trailing 24-hour volume. In a thin market, the venue limit binds first and an order can be blocked even though it sits inside your account limit. See Max Open Size and Market-Volume Limits and Market Availability and Thin Markets.

What Is Still Simulated

Activation does not change what FPT is. Balances, orders, positions, fills and profits inside your account remain simulated. FPT does not route your orders to Polymarket, Kalshi or any exchange, and does not hold customer funds. Simulated fills consider live market price and available liquidity; estimated slippage and price impact are estimates and are not guaranteed.

What is real is the payout. Traders who reach the funded stage and meet the payout rules may receive real, company-funded performance payouts under the 90/10 profit split. See How Simulated Market Activity Works and How Real Performance Payouts Work.
